Delete your MyOwn ISP account

This page explains how to delete your MyOwn ISP account and the personal information linked to it. It applies to accounts used in the MyOwn ISP mobile app (iOS and Android) and the MyOwn ISP Client Portal at hub.myownisp.co.za. MyOwn ISP is a division of ATEC Systems & Technologies (Pty) Ltd.

Three ways to request deletion

  1. In the app or Client Portal: sign in, open Profile, choose Privacy & Data, then choose "Delete my account and data" and submit the request. You can track its progress on the same screen.
  2. By email: write to our Information Officer at marijke@atec.co.za (copy helpdesk@myownisp.co.za) with the subject "Account deletion request". Include your account number, full name and the email address on the account.
  3. By phone: call 0861 122 832 and ask for an account deletion request to be logged.

What happens next

  • We acknowledge your request and verify your identity (we may ask for your ID number or a security question) so that nobody else can delete your account.
  • If you still have an active fibre service, we first process the cancellation of that service under our Refund & Cancellation Policy (one calendar month's notice), then delete the account.
  • Deletion is completed within 30 days of your verified request, and we email you when it is done.

What we delete

Your login and password, profile and contact details, installation and billing addresses, uploaded documents and photos, support ticket history, marketing preferences, push-notification tokens and device information held for the app.

What we must keep, and why

Invoices, payment and contract records for 5 years as required by tax and consumer protection law; communication-related information for the period prescribed by RICA; and any records needed for a pending dispute or unpaid amount. These are kept in a restricted archive, are not used for any other purpose, and are deleted when the retention period ends.
